WSQ Prepare and Serve Cocktail
The course is designed for learners to learn how to make seven different types of cocktails. Learners will learn the fundamental of cocktail components, the ingredients used and techniques to prepare and serve cocktails.
Learners will also learn how to pair and use various bitters, sweeteners, and sours when preparing and concocting a cocktail.

Awarding Body
- Learners that are assessed with competency and achieved at least 75% attendance will be issued with two certificates:

- WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), MySkillsFuture Singapore.
- Certificate of Participation by SDH Institute
Entry Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Completed secondary school education or its equivalent
- New bar hires without any prior experience, or
- Bartenders, baristas, barback, as well as individuals who would like to learn how to prepare and make standard cocktails.
Learning Objectives
The course aims to equip learners with the ability to apply the knowledge and skills in making standard alcoholic cocktails.
This includes the types and uses of ingredients and the characteristics of spirits used in making the cocktails.
Who is the course for
- Baristas who are upskilling the bar mixology to support bartending services at the workplace.
- Junior bartenders who are upskilling their bar mixology skills at the workplace.
- Workers in the food services sector who are reskilling to become a bartender at the workplace.
- Individuals that are seeking a job to become a bartender after the training.

Fees can be further offset by SkillsFuture Credit for Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above. Singapore Citizens aged 21 to 31 may also offset fees with the Post-Secondary Education Account Funds for self-sponsored.

Important Notes
Grant amounts indicated above do not include absentee payroll (AP) funding as this is dependent on the trainee’s hourly basic salary (other than for trainees supported by surrogate Employers, where AP is computed on flat rate independent of salary).
