WSQ Make Basic Bread
The course is designed for learners to learn how to make four types of bread products. Learners will learn how to use the various ingredients and apply different techniques of making and shaping the bread dough.
Learners will also learn how to prepare different types of fillings, and assemble the bread products for baking standard bread.

Awarding Body
- Learners that are assessed with competency and achieved at least 75% attendance will be issued with two certificates:

- WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), MySkillsFuture Singapore.
- Certificate of Participation by SDH Institute
Entry Requirements
- At least 16 years old
- Completed secondary 4 school education or its equivalent
- New bakery hires without any prior experience, or
- Pastry cooks, bakers, kitchen assistants, as well as individuals who would like to learn to bake bread professionally.
Learning Objectives
The course aims to equip learners with the ability to apply the knowledge and skills in making basic bread products. This includes the types and uses of ingredients and the quality characteristics in the preparation of standard bread products.

Fees can be further offset by SkillsFuture Credit for Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above. Singapore Citizens aged 21 to 31 may also offset fees with the Post-Secondary Education Account Funds for self-sponsored.

Important Notes
Grant amounts indicated above do not include absentee payroll (AP) funding as this is dependent on the trainee’s hourly basic salary (other than for trainees supported by surrogate Employers, where AP is computed on flat rate independent of salary).
